Burnham Provincial Park (22) Located on Hwy 7 east of Peterborough, the park is a great spot for a picnic or for a walk through majestic stands of maple, beech, elm and hemlock, among the oldest in Ontario. |  | Morton Family Trail (21) At Trent University there are nature trails ranging from 1.9 to 3.7 km long. The Morton Family trail runs through cedar forest, marshland, old farm fields and along the Trent Canal. This trail is 2.3 km long. | |  | Robert Johnston EcoForest Trails (30) A wonderful trail system developed on property donated by Robert Johnston. Located at 185 Douro 5th Line, Douro, ON. About a 15 minute drive from Lake Edge Cottages. You can walk the entire trail system in an hour or so. Indivdual trails range from 480 m to 2.6 km from the parking lot. |  | Wildlife & Scenery (66)
| |  | Young's Point Conservation Area (19) The Young's Point Conservation Area, within walking distance of Lake Edge Cottages, provide you and your dog with a 3 to 5 km walk through old farm field, ancient maple stands, Young's Point, Lock 27 of the Trent Severn Waterway and over the historic Old Bridge. |
