Lake Edge is open for all four seasons and our 12.5 acre property and location in the Kawarthas, provides the young and old alike with an astounding number of activities. Have a look at our ‘Activities’ and ‘Attractions’ pages to see what awaits you during your stay with us. The Village of Lakefield, a 5 minute drive south, will provide you with all amenities, unique shops and restaurants. Within walking distance is the hamlet of Young's Point located at Lock 27. There you'll find shopping, walking trails and three restaurants to choose from. The City of Peterborough, a 15 minute drive south, is home to the World's Highest Hydraulic Lift Lock, the Canadian Canoe Museum and more. Lake Edge's central location is perfect for exploring the local area or planning day trips to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Algonquin Park, Kingston or Ottawa.
Five of our seven Cottages and the Deluxe Kawartha Suite are a stones throw from the water’s edge. The remaining two cottages are 250 ft. from the shore but have a spacious 8' x 20' deck with doggy/kiddy gate on the front of each. All offer spectacular views of the lake and sunsets. During the warm weather months, every accommodation includes the use of the rowboats, paddleboats, kayaks and canoes. Motor boats and a pontoon boat can be rented by the day or by the week or guests can launch their own boat on-site. Katchewanooka Lake provides you with swimming from shore or dock and boating and fishing for walleye, bass, perch, carp and muskie.
During the cold weather months, guests can enjoy our 12.5 acres by walking, snowshoeing or skating on the pond or just cozying up to the fireplace. The winterized cottages all feature gas fireplaces for warmth and ambiance and after the day’s done you can snuggle down between cozy flannel sheets under a warm duvet. Three of our five units each have a private hot tub, the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors year-round under a romantic star-filled sky. The Kawartha Suite has spacious bedrooms with queen size beds, electric fireplaces for warmth and ambiance and a private hot tub steps away to soak away the winter blues.

Special requests are always welcome. If you would like to make your getaway as easy as possible, you may wish to request a Lake Edge Starter Package of your preferred food and beverages, to be placed in your cottage or suite prior to your arrival. Your wish is our command for a nominal service fee.
Looking for something last minute? Life can always cause vacation plans to change so we'll notify you of any available dates due to cancellations as they come in on the ‘Accommodations’ page. Simply click on each accommodation type and you will see the dates available for each. If something comes available that suits you call us at 1-705-652-9080 right away. Openings due to cancellations never last long. You will also find our summer availability posted there by December of each year.
